What are those spots on my Boston ivy ?
Our beloved Boston ivy that everyone wants planted to grow up bare fences, walls and parapets gets an ugly fungal spot in the summer. It shows itself as a round light-colored area or darkened spot that is bordered in bright red or reddish-brown tint.
Amaryllis or Hippeastrum ?
Hippeastrum is the genus of the bulbs we actually call Amaryllis ! These are native to South America, from Mexico, the Caribbean, and on down to Argentina.
The name is derived from the Ancient Greek, meaning a "knight's star" from (hippeus, mounted knight) and (astron, star). It is sometimes called Barbados Lily.
Pruning Grasses
An overgrown grass makes your garden look messy and unkempt, especially with the foliage brown. They can also lose their desired shape and structure.
Old dead grass stems also make it difficult for new shoots to emerge in the spring and can harbor pests.
Dead foliage can restrict airflow around the plant's crown, increasing the risk of rot and fungal issues.

A beloved spring flowering plant most of us purchase and plant in spring for an early colorful show!
Their flowers are just so amazing – almost hand crafted - with super thin petals packed tightly. Colors range from cream and pale yellow to apricot, pink, orange, red and burgundy. The bloom reminds me a bit of a rose, camelia or even a peony - plump and gorgeous!

Beaucarnea recurvata is one of the best plant choices for the home. A common indoor houseplant we call `ponytail palm’ or `elephants foot’.
