Samuel Nelson - Garden Care, Manager
Samuel grew up near the Black Hills National Forest in South Dakota, where he developed a deep respect for nature and its inhabitants.
He later moved to San Francisco to study violin and viola at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance. After his final recital, he received his first orchid as a gift—sparking a fascination with plant cultivation that would shape his future.
In 2023, Samuel relocated to New York and joined Plant Specialists in 2024. He is currently pursuing certification in Sustainable Garden Design and Sustainable Landscape Management at NYBG. Samuel views plants as more than just ornamental elements; to him, they are vital living beings that define and enhance the spaces they inhabit.
